CUSTOM CASTING

When your construction, decorative, or restoration project calls for custom metal casting, you want to make sure you're working with the best. Robinson Iron specializes in high-quality custom casting for projects across the country. Our highly experienced foundrymen, craftspeople, and pattern makers can transform iron, bronze, copper, aluminum, and stainless steel into almost any design imaginable.

Custom metal casting is an age-old tradition, and well-crafted pieces can last for centuries. Since 1946, Robinson Iron has built a hard-won reputation as an industry leader in custom casting. Our pattern makers and tradespeople go through an extensive apprenticing process, working with a variety of casting materials and learning their craft from the masters just as they did in the nineteenth century. We are the go-to provider of metal casting services for businesses, contractors, universities, and city governments across the United States and beyond.

>About the Metal Casting Process
At Robinson Iron, our casting methods combine state-of-the-art technology with a time-tested sand casting process to fashion custom-made precision metal products to the client's exact design specifications. We begin with a pattern or model from which we create the sand molds used for casting. We use various materials and toolings to sculpt patterns in clay or wood, and we also frequently utilize a CNC multi-axis router to generate a three-dimensional composite pattern into the mold. When the pattern making process is complete, molten metal is poured into the mold cavity and cooled before removal. We draft all components with careful precision to account for the shrinkage of cooling metal. For high-volume production runs involving casts of many identical pieces, we implement a prototyping process that ensures all subsequent pieces meet exact specifications and quality standards.
