Iowa River Landing Development

Coralville, Iowa located near Iowa City on the Iowa River will soon be known for more than great fishing. As part of an effort to bring more jobs and business to the area Coralville officials have tied together several projects into one ambitious achievement known as the Iowa River Landing Development. It consists of a Hotel/Conference Center, Environmental/Education Project, Intermodal Facility and Public Parkland. The grand entrance to it all is The Clock Tower Fountain. RDG Planning & Design of Des Moines, Iowa worked closely with Robinson Iron and TRICON Construction of Dubuque, Iowa to realize their concept of an impressive yet meaningful entrance. Four cast iron Botanical Gardens Fountains surrounding the masonry clock tower were modified with notched spillways allowing water flow to be split into quadrants. The spilling water hitting terraced pavers below makes for a great show while the sound of rushing water totally compliments the beautiful riverbank setting. Iowa River Landing is a perfect family destination for the Holidays or any day.

The imposing scale and raised elevation of the fountain elements create quite an entrance.
