Special consideration had to be given to large historic oak trees whose roots are intertwined with portions of the fence. Lead abatement was performed by treatment with Pretox rendering it nonleachable. A Tnemec paint system consisted of a zinc rich pre-prime, epoxy primer, acrylic polyurethane, and a clearcoat protectant.
