2007 Grand Jury Project Award
On May 2, 2007 The Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia awarded Robinson Iron for the firm’s restoration work on the Fairmount Water Works South Garden and Cliffpath Project. Preservation and Development Administrator, Theresa Stuhlman congratulated Robinson’s Vice President Scott Howell for “making the project a success” and stated “We look forward to working with you again in the near future.”
The work consisted of recreating an elaborate cast iron railing that once graced the Cliffside Path. The path winds up the face of the cliff to an observation point and the Art Museum above. Originally designed by Frederick Graff in 1829 as a Romantic landscape, the restored South Garden looks much as it did then. Robinson Iron is proud to have been awarded this honor.
