Transit Structures Give a Sense of Place

Transit structures speak volumes to the commuter. They not only signal access to transportation, but they tell the visitor something about local civic pride and a commitment to quality. Robinson Iron has assisted in the design and engineering of many subway entrances, trolley shelters, and bus stops in America's major urban areas. Generally these designs start with an impact resistant steel structure and are clad in a variety of cast and fabricated metals. Shatterproof glazing, durable finishes and lighting complete the assembly.

Bow Bridge Urns Return to Central Park

"Cross over Bow Bridge, one of Central Park's most iconic features, and you'll see an amazing transformation just in time for spring. Look for eight 3.5- foot high planting urns - cast-iron replicas of the bridge's originals - which were removed almost 100 years ago. A skilled team of Conservancy craftsmen used historic images and took cues from another urn thought to be an exact model of the ones that originally adorned the Bridge.

Westhaven Fountain first appeared in Robinson’s Summer 2006 Portfolio Vol. 5 and created such a stir we thought we’d share it with you again. As the centerpiece of a new development by Southern Land Company this large scale cast iron fountain gives the neighborhood a “grace note” and a gathering place. The fountain has been such a success Southern Land is investing in a similar fountain for their newest venture Tucker Hill located in McKinney, Texas

Bevill State Custom Cast Iron Stair

The New mathematics and Science Building for Bevill State Community College in Jasper, Alabama welcomes visitors with a monumental twin staircase designed by Pearson, Humphries & Jones Architects and fabricated by Robinson Iron. The gracious proportions of the stairs are the perfect complement to the columned portico of this classically inspired building. Rising almost twenty feet from the first to the second floor each stair is made of custom cast iron treads with waterjet cut steel risers applied to structural steel.

| If you've called Robinson Iron to place an order for one of our fountains, chances are you've spoken with Luke Robinson. As Sales Manager for the company, Luke often acts as a special liaison between clients and Robinson Iron's design/production staff. In this manner he sometimes finds himself managing projects as well as scheduling installations and deliveries.
